Wahlwexel, performance, raffle, WUK Vienna, 2013
Join us when we say that ‘citizenship’ is ‘part of the game’!
According to Statistics Austria, 1 million people live in this country without citizenship and are therefore not eligible to vote. This is unworthy of a democracy. In recent years, new and innovative ways of obtaining citizenship have emerged in Austria. Inspired by Uwe Scheuch, Anna Jurjewna Netrebko, Sebastian Kurz and Ivo Vastic, we have decided to hold a citizenship raffle on 25 September 2013 at the WUK. You are surely aware that we live in a state where maternal blood is a decisive factor in its admission criteria.
With us, you don’t need to bring a blood test – just come along to the BOEM*ian Random – Identity TOMBOLA! Nikolic and Kalivoda: “The first prize is a grant of €1,500 towards acquiring citizenship. If you already hold Austrian citizenship, then you’re out of luck and your prize will go to the Refugee Movement in the form of a cash donation.”
But don’t worry, the consolation prizes are pretty impressive too. Second and third place will help you tackle your xenophobia – get to know the capitals of the largest immigrant groups! And fly or travel to Belgrade or Istanbul!”
With us, EVERY ticket wins – each ticket costs just €2!
