What is art, and where and how do our migrant workers fit into the context of contemporary art and culture?

In this exhibition, the predominantly migrant guests and users of BOEM* become curators, artists – in short, the key players in the exhibition “Lives and Works in Vienna” and the reimagining of the second act of the Gastarbajter Opera.

With our focus on the productive engagement with contemporary-inspired discourses on participation in art and politics, we also aim to understand ‘the others’ conception of art.

No translation without knowledge of the field. An expansion of the space in multiple directions – and everyone must move.
