One week of cooking performances, participatory cooking and culinary storytelling, Künstlerhaus 1050, Vienna 2019
In collaboration with Künstlerhaus Wien
The political climate is currently changing rapidly, and the arts and culture scene is also facing major upheavals. Activist formats, public space, and political-artistic declarations and statements are becoming increasingly visible.
Elections, election campaigns and protests are on the rise. Alternative forms of organisation are being sought, conceived and even trialled, intended to provide solutions and strategies for positive future scenarios.
How can we still foster a culture of togetherness today, amidst difficult social circumstances?
Between actors from socially precarious backgrounds, within and outside universities, across different milieus and with low barriers to entry?
What is needed to enable a productive translation into practical contexts?
From 29 March, we’ll be at Künstlerhaus 1050.
We’ll eat whatever’s on the table. Whatever’s currently being prepared in the kitchen will be served.
You’ll find out on the spot whether it’s Good Cook or Bad Cook at the pots. Someone’s bound to go hungry. We can’t always feed everyone. There isn’t that much to go round. If the Kitchen is short of supplies, everyone brings something along themselves. It should be suitable for the frying pan. But Bad Koch will teach you that. It all starts with the collective, and the question: in times like these, will we still be able to bite down so powerfully tomorrow?
